Getting involved is simple!

Gravel Hill is determined to be an active voice and partner within the Palmyra Community.  We are always willing to help and support community organizations and businesses with projects and partnership opportunities through volunteerism, building use, or sponsorship.  We stay active within our church, as well.  We strive to provide opportunities for every person who comes through our doors on Sunday to have a reason to come back to church throughout the rest of week.  Whether it's through a Bible Study group, a Devotional Group, a community-focused activity, or simply an opportunity to hang out and Fellowship, Gravel Hill's faithful community of worshipers longs to live out our Mission to Learn, Live, and Share Christ.  Below are many of the ongoing Community and Church opportunities we support.

Throughout the spring, fall ,and winter months, Gravel Hill is home to many small group Bible studies.  Many meet Wednesday Evenings following our Be In The Light meal, however, some groups meet during the day time hours or other evenings thoughout the week.  Click on the link above to find out more about these opportunities to grow in your faith walk.

Devotional Groups

Gravel Hill has many groups that meet on a monthly basis. These groups are made up of members and non-members alike who share a common interest or hobby along with a growing passion to learn more about Christ's calling in their lives. Currently we have the following group(s) meeting on a weekly/monthly basis:

  • An Artist's Expression:  Led by Stella Walmer, this group of artists will meet every Thursday in the church's Holy Grounds/Welcome Area beginning Thursday, March 3 and will run through Thursday, June 16 from 6:30-8:00 pm.  The goal of the group is to grow in faith through fellowship and study and spend time creating and crafting with fellow art enthusiasts..  Stella has used a DVD-based curriculum from Thomas Nelson Publishers called Liquid.  Liquid takes a fresh look at familiar passages of Scripture through dramatization of modern situations where these scriptures apply.  We are called to delve into a deeper understanding of Scripture and how we live out our faith in the world as a response to Scripture.  Previous studies included  The Ten and Money Talks. The fall study is yet to be announced.  Contact Tony if you are interested in more information about this group.

Isaiah 6:8

Isaiah 6:8 is a fluid group of individuals and families who want to get more actively involved in Community Outreach.  It is based on the Prophet Isaiah's revelation, Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”  And I said, “Here am I. Send me!"  In 2012, the group led an ALPHA Bible Study at The American House in Lebanon, PA.  For 2013, Isaiah 6:8 became even more active in and around our community.  By serving Caitlin's Smiles, GAINusa, the Palmyra Nursing Home, and the Hope Lodge, this group has not only expanded our influence but our membership, as well.  In January of 2013,  members of this group also organized a Be the Match Bone Marrow Donor Registry Drive in honor of Dale Umberger.  We just recently ran a highly successful BTM drive at Lebanon Valley College, as well.

Since 2014, we helped out with the following organizations:

We currently continue to support these missions as well as Downtown Daily Bread & LVBH.   If you are interested in joining Isaiah 6:8 or finding out how you can get involved in with any of the above-listed organizations, please email Tony or call 838.4721, ext. 122.
